Another inspiring update has come from Pastor Claude Hatungimana of Equipping the Saints International Ministries in Burundi. This is a beautiful reminder that God continues to move powerfully, even in the most remote places of the world.

From March 23 to 27, 2026, a life-changing season of Christian education took place in the rural areas of Gitega Province. Pastors and church leaders traveled from different communities, leaving behind their daily responsibilities, to gather with one purpose: to be equipped, strengthened, and renewed in their calling.
This gathering reflects the heart of Scripture in Ephesians 4:12, which says, “to equip His people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” Indeed, this week was not just about learning, it was about building up the Body of Christ in Burundi through empowered and Spirit-filled leaders.

For an entire week, these men and women of God devoted themselves to the presence of the Lord. Each day became an opportunity not only to gain knowledge but to encounter God in a deeper and more personal way. As written in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
This truth came alive throughout the training, as leaders were grounded in the Word and prepared for the work ahead.

What makes this moment even more powerful is the setting. In the simplicity of rural Gitega—far from the comforts of urban life—God’s presence was undeniable. It echoes the truth found in John 4:24, “God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” No matter the location, God meets those who seek Him with sincere hearts.
Despite the challenges that often come with ministry in remote areas—limited resources, long travel, and daily hardships—these pastors and leaders showed unwavering commitment. Their hunger for God reflects the promise in Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” And truly, throughout this week, they were filled—with wisdom, strength, and renewed passion.

Testimonies from the training reveal lives that were touched and transformed. Hearts were refreshed, burdens were lifted, and callings were reaffirmed. This renewal will undoubtedly carry them forward as they return to serve their communities.
Through the faithful leadership of Pastor Claude Hatungimana and the continued support of Equipping the Saints International Ministries, God is raising up leaders who will faithfully shepherd His people. The seeds planted during this week will not remain in that place—they will grow, multiply, and bear fruit in churches, families, and entire communities.

Let us continue to pray for these pastors and church leaders. May what they have received overflow into the lives of many. May their ministries be strengthened, their faith deepened, and their communities impacted for the glory of God.
As it is written in Hebrews 13:20-21, “Now may the God of peace… equip you with everything good for doing His will…”—this is our prayer for every leader who took part in this powerful week.
God is moving—and His work in Burundi is a living testimony of His grace, power, and faithfulness.
