Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord."
Matthew 25:23
Just last month, God called home one of His faithful servants—my father. And though the ache of losing him is still fresh, I cannot help but lift my hands in thankfulness for the life he lived.
My father was not a man of worldly riches, nor did he seek the applause of people. But he was a man of deep faith—someone who obeyed God’s call, even when it cost him comfort, stability, and even reputation. He chose the path of a pastor, knowing it wouldn’t make him rich. He endured criticism and harsh words, sometimes not just from unbelievers, but even from those within the faith.
Yet he never turned away from his calling. He kept his eyes on Jesus, the One who called him.
Because of that simple “yes” to God, our family walks in the light of Christ today. He led us to church—not with force, but with love and conviction. His obedience shaped our legacy, not just as individuals, but as a family that now worships and serves the Lord. Without his courage to follow Jesus no matter what, we wouldn’t be where we are.
Even as he lay on his deathbed, with pain in his body but peace in his heart, my father whispered, “Everything happens for a reason. God has a purpose for everything.” That was his faith—steadfast, unwavering, and rooted in eternal hope.
His life reminds me that true success isn’t measured by praise or possessions, but by obedience. And obedience often requires sacrifice. But the reward? Oh, the reward is eternal joy with the King he loved so deeply.
