A Merry Heart and a Broken Spirit

A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.

Proverbs 17:22

"Laughter is the best medicine." "Always be positive." We often hear these phrases everywhere, and they actually make sense. The way a person thinks influences how they view life and can also impact their well-being. When someone is filled with joy, challenging situations do not disrupt their inner peace and lead them into hopelessness. It is important to keep in mind that joy is found in our relationship with Christ (Proverbs 10:28; John 15:11).

A BROKEN SPIRIT DRIES THE BONES

It implies a connection between the heart's state and the body's well-being, highlighting the link between physical and spiritual health. It literally means it sucks out the marrow of life from the bones.

Let us find joy in the Lord. Even amidst storms or trials, in times of doubt or worry, we can rejoice in the Lord. Rather than focusing on our circumstances, a joyful believer turns to the Lord and rejoices in Him.

Proverbs 10:28

The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.

John 15:11
