Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:2
The world has a loud voice. It defines success by status, happiness by possessions, and truth by popularity. If we're not careful, our perspectives can slowly start to shift. What once seemed wrong now feels normal. What we once stood for begins to blur. The values we hold as followers of Christ can get lost in the noise.
The danger isn’t always in the big things—it often starts subtly. Social media, trends, public opinion, and even well-meaning advice can slowly influence our choices, our mindset, and our beliefs. The world is constantly shaping narratives, but not always with God in mind.
That’s why we need discernment. We need the kind of wisdom that comes not from books or influencers, but from above. When we ask God for discernment, we are essentially asking Him to help us see things the way He does—to know what is true, what is good, and what is of Him.
Discernment doesn’t always come easily. It requires prayer, time in the Word, and a humble heart willing to be corrected. But when we walk with God and let Him shape our thinking, we can stand firm even when the world tries to pull us in another direction.
Be mindful of what shapes your thoughts. Ask God daily to help you see the world through His eyes—and stand firm in the truth, even when the world wavers.
