Every Choice Matters

And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

Joshua 24:15

Life is a series of choices. Some are as simple as what to eat for breakfast or what clothes to wear. But others have lasting consequences—what to believe, how to respond to pain, whether to forgive, or who to follow. These choices, whether big or small, all lead us somewhere. And more often than not, they shape the direction of our lives far more than we realize.

Spiritually, our choices matter deeply. Choosing to pray instead of complain, to worship in the middle of weariness, or to read God's Word even when we don’t feel like it—these are moments where our hearts lean into eternity. They may seem like quiet, hidden decisions, but they are powerful. They build spiritual muscle. They draw us closer to God.

I still believe that our choices impact every aspect of our lives, especially spiritually. Every “yes” to God strengthens our walk with Him. Every “no” to temptation protects our soul from unnecessary heartache. God has always been about giving His people the freedom to choose—not because He wants to test us, but because love must be freely given to be genuine.

But what if you’ve made the wrong choices? What if you’ve chosen things that led you away from God instead of toward Him? The beautiful truth is that God’s grace is not a one-time offer. He is the God of second chances. His mercies are new every morning, and with every new day, you are invited again to choose Him. But doesn't mean we have to keep sinning.

Sometimes we ask God why things are the way they are, or why we feel far from Him—when the real answer lies in the choices we’ve made. Maybe we’ve chosen to ignore His Word, to hold on to bitterness, or to walk away from our convictions. But here’s the good news: you can always choose differently today.

So choose to trust. Choose to obey. Choose to let go. Choose to come back. The power is in your hands, but the strength to follow through will always come from Him.
