How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
Psalm 133:1
Every Saturday, our family chooses to set aside the demands of the week and come together — to laugh, talk, swim at the beach, and simply enjoy each other’s company. At first glance, it may seem like just a fun outing, a tradition of bonding. But as the weeks went by, I started to see something deeper happening — something spiritual.
Worship doesn’t only happen in a church. Worship is any moment where our hearts are aligned with God — when we acknowledge His goodness and respond with gratitude, love, and joy. At the beach, with the waves crashing, the sun setting, and laughter filling the air, I see God’s fingerprints in every moment.
When we enjoy what God has created — nature and relationships — we are glorifying the Creator. We are saying, “Thank You, Lord, for this life, for these people, for this time.” And in that gratitude, we worship.
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31
Family bonding is not just a way to relax; it is a way to serve. Ministry doesn't always mean preaching or standing in front of a crowd. Sometimes, ministry looks like listening to a sibling’s story, comforting a parent, or simply being present and patient with one another.
The way we treat each other — especially within our families — speaks volumes to the world. When others see love, peace, and laughter within our home, it reflects the character of Christ.
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – John 13:35
In a world that is constantly pulling us in different directions, family time restores what may have been weakened during the week — communication, understanding, and connection. It’s a time to say, “You matter. I’m here. We are still a family.” That kind of reconnection is healing — and God moves powerfully in spaces where restoration is taking place.
The beach — the ocean waves, the wind, the sky — is not just a background for fun. It’s a reminder of how big and beautiful our God is. Every splash in the water, every step on the sand, reminds us of His creativity, power, and provision. Time in nature refreshes the soul and draws our hearts closer to the One who made it all.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” – Psalm 19:1
In a world full of distractions, family time is a time of restoration. It’s when we press pause on work, stress, and screens — and press play on presence, connection, and laughter. It’s when we say to our family: You matter. I’m here. We are still together.
And when we gather in love, God is in the midst of us.
