“And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.””
Deuteronomy 31:8
This is the last record we have of Moses talking to Joshua. He didn't say anything that would discourage Joshua, like telling him how exhausting they were or the problems he encountered all throughout his time as their leader. He wasn't telling Joshua how to do something, but instead, how to see everything.
Moses focused on emphasizing their words to the most important part of our everyday stories: God. Moses had been a crucial leader, but it was only because of God that Israel could move forward. God remains their stronghold and peace. It was only because of God that they made it this far. And because God is the author of the story, His provision would continue after Moses is gone.
Because God was with Israel, Joshua didn't need to fear anything. God is still the same today. He goes with you and before you wherever you go.
He will be with you in that ministry.
You don’t have to care about what’s next.
He’s going to fight your battles.
Your future is secured with Jesus.
So, when God is with you, there is nothing to fear. He will lead the way.
