When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me.
Psalm 27:10
Today, my heart ached in a way I hadn’t expected. Betrayal doesn’t just hurt — it pierces. Especially when it comes from those you’ve chosen to trust, those you’ve let close enough to hold your heart. I found myself asking, "Why does it always have to be me?" The pain ran deep, and tears flowed freely. It felt unfair, and I couldn’t help but wonder what was wrong with me.
But even in the middle of my heartbreak, a gentle truth whispered to my soul: God’s love never betrays.
While people may turn their backs, twist stories, or walk away, God stays. His love remains — pure, constant, and fiercely loyal. It doesn’t waver based on my performance. It doesn’t depend on what others say about me. It is unconditional. In a world full of shifting loyalties, God’s love is the one I can always hold on to.
And because of that love, I can choose to stay kind. I can choose to understand even when misunderstood. Not because they deserve it, but because I’ve tasted the mercy of God that I did not deserve. He fills the aching places of betrayal with peace. He wraps my shattered trust with His faithfulness.
Let them walk away if they must. I won’t let bitterness be my inheritance. I’ll let grace and understanding take root instead. Why? Because the One who matters most has never left me, never betrayed me, and never will.
If you’re feeling hurt today from betrayal, take a deep breath. You are not alone. Jesus, too, was betrayed by someone close — and yet He still chose love. Ask Him to help you forgive, to heal, and to remind you again of how deeply you are loved.
